106HVM-1 or 106HVM-2 High Voltage Multiplier PCB

The 106HVM-1 and the 106HVM-2 High Voltage Multiplier printed circuit boards (PCBs) are voltage multipliers designed for use with the 106HVPS-5 High Voltage Power Supply PCB, especially when it is operated on logging line tool voltage below 120 volts.  However either voltage multiplier board can be used to boost the output voltage of the 106HVPS-5 if needed for any other reason (maximum boost is achieved when D1 is omitted from the 106HVPS-5 PCB).  The 106HVM-1 is also used as the primary rectifier assembly with the 106HVPS-6 SCR Style High Voltage Power Supply.

The 106HVM-1 High Voltage Multiplier PCB creates a classic voltage doubler when connected to the existing single diode peak detector / rectifier circuit on the 106HVPS-5 PCB.  As noted above, the 106HVM-1 PCB is also used with the 106HVPS-6 PCB (the "DC HV IN" terminal is then connected to ground).  Output series resistor R1 is turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board.  The 106HVM-1 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power.  The 106HVM-1 PCB measures 0.8 inches wide and mounts on two (2) inch centers.

The 106HVM-2 High Voltage Multiplier PCB creates a classic voltage quadrupler when connected to the existing single diode peak detector / rectifier circuit on the 106HVPS-5 PCB.  Output series resistor R1 is turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board.  The 106HVM-2 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power.  The 106HVM-2 PCB measures 0.8 inches wide and mounts on two (2) inch centers.

The 106HVM-1 and the 106HVM-2 Voltage Multiplier PCBs are part of the 106 Radiation Tool™ PCB family.  106 Tool PCBs can be used to upgrade or repair tools, or an entire electronics section can be assembled from scratch using several PCBs (as in reworking an old tube / Nuvistor tool).  All 106 Tool PCBs use readily obtainable components, which parts will continue to be available for many years to come, and all use convenient turret terminals for wiring connections.  We prefer through-hole components for PCBs designed to survive high temperature, but selected components may be surface mount (SMT) where price and/or availability is an issue.  Due to time constraints on maintaining this website, the PCBs illustrated below may not be the most recent revision of the boards and / or circuits.
