106LD-5 Single Channel Pulse Former and Line Driver PCB

The 106LD-5 Single Channel Pulse Former and Line Driver printed circuit board (PCB) is a simple and reliable line driver circuit using the 4538 dual precision monostable multivibrator integrated circuit as a pulse shaper, and the HA-5002 buffer integrated circuit (replaces the hybrid LH0002) as a line driver.  Because the 4538 is configured to be non-retiggerable, basic anti-collision protection is possible, a nice feature in high count rate applications.  Output pulse polarity is jumper selectable (JP2).  Pulse width setting resistors R2 and anti-collision timing resistor R1 are turret terminal mounted for ease of selection or change on a fastened board.  Output resistor R4 is also turret terminal mounted (required for simultaneous cement bond logging), as is pulse height adjustment resistor R3 which can be jumpered out for maximum pulse height (JP3).  The 106LD-5 is bond kill ready for use with the 106BK-2 (or the appropriate pulse output from the UBK-4).  The 106LD-5 PCB is jumper configurable to be compatible with either armor / chassis negative or armor / chassis positive line power.  It requires only a single 10-15 volt power supply to operate (no second higher voltage supply is required as with many line driver designs).  The 106LD-5 PCB measures 0.8 inches wide and mounts on three (3) inch centers.

The 106LD-5 Single Channel Pulse Former and Line Driver PCB is part of the 106 Radiation Tool™ PCB family.  106 Radiation Tool PCBs can be used to upgrade or repair tools, or an entire electronics section can be assembled using several PCBs (as in reworking an old tube / Nuvistor tool).  All 106 Tool PCBs use readily obtainable components, which parts will continue to be available for many years to come, and all use convenient turret terminals for wiring connections.  Due to time constraints on maintaining this website, the PCB illustrated below may not be the most recent revision of the board and / or circuit.
